Everton is ready to bring James Rodríguez on a permanent deal from Real Madrid. Several reports claim that Everton will have to pay 20M for James.
According to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano, ‘Real Madrid are in advanced talks with Everton for James Rodriguez to be sold in the next days. The deal is not done – but Carlo Ancelotti already contacted James to convince him.’
James joined Real Madrid in 2014 after his brilliant display in the 2014 World Cup. He won the World Cup golden boot that year. Every big European Club was interested to sign him then. But he chose Real Madrid.
However, he has struggled to secure his place in the team and became out of favor of their manager Zinedine Zidane. He was sent to Bayern Munich on loan for two seasons and won back to back Bundesliga with them. But nothing has changed after his return to Santiago Bernabeu.
In his four seasons with Real Madrid [excluding 2 years of the loan with Bayern Munich] he just made 85 appearances for them and scored only 29 goals. Last season he made only 8 appearances in La Liga.
The 29-year-old Colombian international wants a team where he can get much more game time to play. Everton can be a suitable destination for him. Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti brought him to Madrid and he likes James.
Now he wants the Colombian in Everton to compete in English Premier League. It will be a good addition to the Merseyside Club if the deal has been made.
