## Why the Date Changed?

The film was not always headed for October. Rajinikanth had said in September 2025 that it would arrive on June 12, 2026, but that date slipped. The makers then confirmed the new date, and the film now lands in the festive window. ### Who’s in the Cast?

[Rajinikanth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajinikanth) leads, and Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa return from the first film. One more name matters: Vijay Sethupathi has confirmed a cameo, and Vinayakan appears in a flashback as Varman. Because he is the biggest cameo, Sethupathi’s absence from promotions has fans talking. A Times of India headline says it has sparked speculation about reported scene cuts. Nothing official has confirmed that, so treat it as buzz for now.

## What to Expect?

The 2023 hit followed a retired jailer protecting his family from a dangerous smuggler. The sequel’s 55-second promo opened with Vinayakan’s final dialogue from the first film, hinting that his actions were part of a much larger network. Expect bigger action, a stylish remix of the theme music and Nelson’s dark humor.
