The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has become the **fastest Tamil film to enter the Rs 500 crore club globally**, grossing **Rs 521 crore in just 6 days**. A week ago, that number would have sounded like a lifetime total.

## Jailer 2 Worldwide Box Office

| Market | Gross Collection |
| --- | --- |
| **India (Domestic)** | ~Rs 325 crore |
| **Overseas** | USD 20.65 million (~Rs 196 crore) |
| **Worldwide (6 days)** | **Rs 521 crore** |

*Figures are trade estimates, not certified collections.*

## Why This Run Feels Different?

First, the film has already overtaken the full lifetime collection of *Coolie*, which finished with Rs 501 crore. Then there is the overseas run, which has been just as strong as the home market, with over USD 20.65 million collected so far.

*Jailer 2* is currently the **fourth highest-grossing Tamil film worldwide**, and it is not slowing down. It is about Rs 85 crore short of the original *Jailer* and Rs 140 crore short of the current industry hit, *2.0*.

Here is the detail that should excite fans most. The original *Jailer* added nearly Rs 300 crore after its first six days. If the sequel follows a similar path, the all-time record could fall.

## Highest-Grossing Kollywood Films of All Time

| Rank | Film | Year | Worldwide Gross |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | 2.0 | 2018 | Rs 662 crore |
| 2 | Leo | 2023 | Rs 617 crore |
| 3 | Jailer | 2023 | Rs 605 crore |
| **4** | **Jailer 2** | **2026** | **Rs 521 crore & counting** |
| 5 | Coolie | 2025 | Rs 501 crore |

Notice something? Rajinikanth already owns two entries on this list, plus *Coolie* at number five. Few stars can claim that kind of hold on the box office after decades in cinema.

## The Rajinikanth Factor

It is rare for a veteran star to keep opening at this scale, and it says a lot about [Rajinikanth’s](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajinikanth) enduring pull. Pair that star power with Nelson’s signature action-comedy style, and audiences clearly can’t get enough. Dussehra holiday footfalls only added fuel to the fire.

## What Happens Next?

The next few days will be the real test. The Dussehra boost is behind it, so the weekend will show whether word of mouth can carry the film towards the Rs 600 crore mark. The trade is already calling it the likely **No. 1 Tamil grosser at the worldwide box office**, and the numbers so far back that up.
