## A Superb Hold

A 55 per cent drop in the second weekend is a very good result for a South Indian film, especially one that opened this big. In India, the film ranks second among Kollywood films behind *2.0*, and Pinkvilla expects it to take the top spot soon.

## Where the Money Comes From?

| Territory | Gross (India) |
| --- | --- |
| Tamil Nadu | Rs 166.25 crore |
| Andhra Pradesh and Telangana | Rs 83 crore |
| Karnataka | Rs 78.25 crore |
| Kerala | Rs 71 crore |
| Rest of India | Rs 44.75 crore |

## Records Within Reach

- **Tamil Nadu:** On course for Rs 200 crore or more in its full run.
- **Karnataka and Kerala:** Already the biggest grosses for any Kollywood film in both states.
- **Telugu states:** Less than Rs 10 crore short of *2.0*’s record, so it should topple it soon.
- **Hindi dubbed version:** About Rs 33 crore net so far, likely to finish above Rs 40 crore, a strong number for a dubbed film with limited release and little spending.

## Conclusion

Strength outside the home state is what makes this run special. Many big Tamil films peak in Tamil Nadu, but *Jailer 2* is setting records across Karnataka, Kerala and beyond. If the weekday numbers hold, the Indian record is just a matter of days.
