Superstar Rajinikanth is rewriting Tamil cinema records again. *Jailer 2* has crossed the Rs 400 crore mark in India, and the numbers keep climbing. Here’s a clear look at how the film is performing.

## Jailer 2: Milestones

| Milestone | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| **10-day India gross** | About Rs 416 crore |
| **Tamil film rank** | Fourth Tamil film past Rs 400 crore, after *2.0*, *Jailer* and *Leo* |
| **Current position** | Second behind *2.0*, expected to take the top spot |
| **2nd weekend (India)** | About Rs 443 crore |
| **12-day India gross** | About Rs 454 crore |
| **Worldwide** | Reported as the first Kollywood film to reach Rs 700 crore |

## A Superb Second Saturday

On its second Saturday, the film collected roughly Rs 26 crore, a 60 per cent jump over the previous day. The week-on-week drop was about 50 per cent, which Pinkvilla calls a fantastic hold for a South Indian film, especially one that opened this big.

## Day-Wise India Gross (Estimates)

| Day | Gross |
| --- | --- |
| Thursday (Day 1) | Rs 67.50 crore |
| Friday | Rs 42.25 crore |
| Saturday | Rs 52 crore |
| Sunday | Rs 61.50 crore |
| Monday | Rs 48.25 crore |
| Tuesday | Rs 52.50 crore |
| Wednesday | Rs 31.50 crore |
| Thursday | Rs 18.50 crore |
| 2nd Friday | Rs 16 crore |
| 2nd Saturday | Rs 26 crore |
| **Total** | **Rs 416 crore** |

## Where the Money Comes From?

| Territory | Gross |
| --- | --- |
| Tamil Nadu | Rs 155.50 crore |
| Andhra Pradesh and Telangana | Rs 78.50 crore |
| Karnataka | Rs 72.75 crore |
| Kerala | Rs 67.75 crore |
| Rest of India | Rs 41.50 crore |

## Karnataka Is the Surprise

Tamil Nadu has crossed Rs 150 crore and is on track for Rs 200 crore, but the standout is Karnataka. The film is headed for a final total above Rs 90 crore there, which would beat several big pan-India blockbusters, including *Pushpa 2*, *RRR*, *Kalki 2898 AD* and *Jawan*.

## Conclusion

What impresses me most isn’t the opening, it’s the staying power. A 50 per cent weekly drop is healthy for a film this size, and the strong Saturday jump shows audiences are still turning up. If the pace holds, the Kollywood record looks within reach.
