Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has been a long term target for Manchester United. It seems finally, they have got their guy.
According to a report by Sky Sports, Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Sancho for a five-year deal. The only discussion remaining is how United are going to pay the transfer fee to Dortmund.
The England international is one of the brightest young talents in world football. He scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists in 32 Bundesliga matches last season. It speaks volumes of his world-class ability.
Borussia Dortmund value Jadon Sancho at €120m and are not ready to compromise on that. The only thing they would consider is accepting a less amount as an initial fee and then receiving the remaining amount later. They are looking to accept in a region of €100m upfront.
Dortmund also had this same transfer policy in place for Ousmane Dembele in 2017 when Barcelona signed him. They wanted €140m but instead settled for €105m plus add-ons which equalled to almost €140m.
Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs told: “Sancho is quick, direct but also an intelligent player. What I like about him is when he gets into those areas with the final ball, he doesn’t panic. A lot of quick wide players sometimes do but he picks out the right pass.”
“He’s someone who can counter-attack if we’re going to play that but also if a team are going to sit back, he can beat players and make things happen.”
The new-look Manchester United attack could prove to be lethal. Rashford, Martial and Sancho leading the frontline and then Greenwood coming off the bench. The attackers ably supported by Bruno Fernandes and Pogba. United could finally be on the rise for the first time since Alex Ferguson left.
