ISL’s most loyal: Top 10 longest-serving players in the Indian Super League

The ISL is the top flight of Indian football, and showcases some of the top players in the country. In this article, we will be taking a look at the top ten most loyal players in the league, based on the time that they have spent with a given club. 

Top 10 most loyal players in the ISL 

10. Germanpreet Singh – Chennaiyin FC 

The defensive midfielder has spent four years, eight months and nine days with Chennaiyin FC. He has won the League Cup once during his tenure with them.

9. Brandon Fernandes – FC Goa 

Brandon Fernandes has spent the same amount of time as Germanpreet Singh, with the Gaurs. The attacking midfielder missed the majority of the 21/22 season due to an injury. 

=Seriton Fernandes- FC Goa 

The 29-year-old joined the club in 2017 from Churchill Brothers as part of the draft and has been with them since. He plays as a right-back for Goa and made 17 appearances in 21/22. 

=Mohamed Ali – FC Goa 

The centre-back has been with FC Goa since 2017, as part of the draft. He only made 4 appearances in the season gone by, and has played for his hometown club for four years. 

6. Sunil Chhetri – Bengaluru FC

The Indian skipper has been with Bengaluru FC for five years and three months. This past season, he became the highest Indian goalscorer of all time in the ISL. 

5. Prasanth K – Kerala Blasters 

The 24-year-old has been with Kerala Blasters for five years and six months. He spent a season on loan at Chennai City before being reintegrated into the first team. 

4. Jerry – Chennaiyin FC 

The talented Indian winger is among the longest-serving players in the league. He has been with Chennaiyin FC for the last five years and nine months. 

= Prasanth Ganesh – Chennaiyin FC 

The defensive midfielder has spent a season on loan at Chennai City, after being signed by the ISL club. But, he is now a part of the first team. 

= Anirudh Thapa – Chennaiyin FC

The captain of the club recently signed a new deal with Chennaiyin FC, to extend his stay beyond the five years and nine months that have gone by. 

1. Udanta Singh – Bengaluru FC 

Udanta Singh has been with Bengaluru FC for the last seven years and eight months. He spent half a season on loan with fellow ISL club Mumbai City FC but has been a mainstay for the first team ever since.
