Chennaiyin FC pulled off a shocking second half comeback at the Salt Lake Stadium to win 3-2 against Mohun Bagan SG in front of their home crowd. The two teams were on the extreme sides of the table heading into the game, and no one expected the visitors to come away with the win.

Irfan Yadwad scored the winning goal in the seventh minute of added time to take all three points. Only minutes ago, Dimitri Petratos leveled things up with a penalty at the other end but it wasn’t enough for the Mariners to secure any points from the game.

Chennaiyin FC shock Mohun Bagan SG with comeback

Joni Kauko put his side ahead in the first half, with the two teams going into the tunnel separated by his goal. But the second half proved to be a different game altogether after the changes made by Owen Coyle around the 67th minute.

Quickfire goals from Jordan Murray and Ryan Edwards within the span of ten minutes completely turned the game on its head. And while their hopes could have been dampened with Petratos’ penalty, Yadwad turned out to be a super sub as he earned three crucial points for his side.
