After a long wait, SC East Bengal is finally going to play this year’s Indian Super League along with their counterpart Mohun Bagan. East Bengal’s journey is going to start on 27th November. But interestingly, the journey will start with a derby. SC East Bengal will take on ATK Mohun Bagan FC [Formerly known as ATK] at Tilak Maidan Stadium.

This year’s ISL is going to start on the 20th of November. All the ISL teams are now staying at Goa for their pre-season training.

SC East Bengal has tied up with Shree Cements a few months ago. After that, they finally submitted the bid papers to play in ISL.

On the other hand, East Bengal’s arch rival Mohun Bagan AC has merged with defending ISL champion ATK and they will play as ATK Mohun Bagan FC from this season.

ISL will finally have the taste of one of the biggest derbies of Asia. The excitement around the ‘Boro Match’ is already heating up between the Indian football fans.

The cold war between the two managers has already started after releasing the fixture. SC East Bengal boss, Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler said, “We know how tough any game would be. But for us to get the reigning champions and to get a massive derby out of the way is something to train for. It’s a massive game for our players and we can’t wait. We will be looking forward to it.”

“All we can do is get the team as ready as we can. We really will be ready. No pressure on our boys. We are new boys in the league. Let’s put all the pressure on ATK Mohun Bagan”, he added to put pressure on his opposition.

ATK Mohun Bagan boss Antonio Habas said to ease the pressure from his side: “We are here to play against not only East Bengal but all the other nine teams. So, the fixture doesn’t matter as we are preparing ourselves for every encounter.”

Every football fans in India is waiting for the big clash on 27th November.
