ISL is growing rapidly day by day, season by season. This year it is the 7th edition of ISL. In 2013 when it first started every team had signed marquee players. In that season, some legends like Luis Garcia, Del Piero, Trezeguet, and many others played in the league. Later on, Postiga, Anelka, Elano also played in this league.
These players helped to encourage the players and Indian fans to love football more, many sponsors came into the scenario to flash money in Indian football, development in grassroots level and infrastructure. It surely gave a boost to Indian football.
ISL clubs have started scouting A-League for some exciting foreigners. Last year ISL champion ATK brought Roy Krishna and Williams from A-league. The deadly duo outplayed every opponent on their way to the title.
This year all the ISL teams except Chennaiyin FC have signed an A-League player. East Bengal club has signed most of them. They have signed three players from the A-League. Scott Neville, Steinman, and Holloway are the three former A-League who has joined East Bengal this year.
Their rival ATK Mohun Bagan FC has signed Brad Inman from A-League. Bengaluru FC has signed Kristian Opseth recently from A-League. James Donachie is joining FC Goa, Dylan Fox to North-East United FC, Joel Chianese to Hyderabad FC, Steven Taylor to Odisha FC, Gary Hooper to Kerala Blasters FC, Adam Le Fondre and Nicholas Fitzgerald to Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC respectively.
ISL is going to start on 20th November this year. All the teams have already arrived in Goa for their training camp. Indian football fans are ready to witness these exciting players as well.
