Edu Garcia is set to leave ATK Mohun Bagan for the upcoming season in the Indian Super League. The left-winger has already played in the ISL with Bengaluru FC. He has also been a part of the Chinese league and has played in Spain, his native land.

In his several appearances in the Indian top-flight to date, the Spaniard has scored 11 times and set up another 10. He has been an important player for the Bengali club. Before the official decision, he had a year left on his contract. Now, with the proceedings being decided, Hyderabad FC are reported to be interested in him.

Marcus Mergulhao has reported that ATK Mohun Bagan have already fixated their attention on a feasible replacement for the 31-year-old. The Times of India reporter tweeted, “ATK Mohun Bagan have mutually parted ways with one of their leading foreign players. While this may sound bad, good news is that the club has already identified someone to step into his boots”.

ATK Mohun Bagan fans have fond memories of the brilliant freekick goal he scored against FC Goa, which is also featured in the farewell video in ATKMB’s official Twitter account. Garcia has also tweeted a goodbye message on Twitter.

He tweeted, “It has been a big pleasure to play for ATKMB these two and a half seasons. I came to the city of joy with the aim of being champion with the club, and we have played two ISL finals and got the trophy on 19/20 season, so I’m very proud of the results achieved. Now it’s time to close this chapter and say goodbye and thank you. Thanks to all my teammates for all the memorable moments, you were amazing. Thanks to all the people who work in the club, helping us be ready for every training and match. Hats off! And last but not the least, thanks to all the supporters, you always showed me your support and affection and I will never forget it. All the best Mariners.”
