Top European clubs who have partnered with ISL clubs

Indian Super League (ISL) has been a premier league of the country when it comes to the sport of football. ISL has provided some really talented group of players for the Indian team as well.

Not only that the young Indian footballers get a chance to showcase their talent on the centre stage, but they also get a chance to go toe-to-toe with some well-known heavyweights of the sport from around the world.

Today we’ll take a look at 4 partnerships between European clubs and ISL franchises over its six years history.

Borussia Dortmund-Hyderabad FC (2020)

Hyderabad FC announced a two-year club partnership with German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. The partnership will also have an option to extend for additional years until 2025. Hyderabad FC, therefore, becomes the official ‘club partner’ of Dortmund in India.

RB Leipzig – FC Goa (2020)

FC Goa and German giants RB Leipzig have joined hands for a three-season deal. The partnership will run until 30 June 2023. FC Goa’s Indian assistant, Clifford Miranda, also used the club’s contract with Leipzig and visited their premises as part of a module to complete his two-year AFC Pro Diploma coaching course in Uzbekistan last year.

Manchester City – Mumbai City (2019)

The City Football Group (CFG)’s investment in Mumbai City FC has been extremely beneficial. With assistance from the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), Mumbai City FC sold 65% shares to the Manchester City FC owners. CFG has also been heavily investing in the Mumbai City FC roster for the 2020-21 season.

Bengaluru – Rangers FC (2019)

Bengaluru FC shares a technical partnership with Rangers FC. The two clubs signed a two-year deal with an option to extend on mutual agreement. The deal will present a number of opportunities for both clubs. The partnership includes Rangers Academy travel to India to hold training camps in Bengaluru.
