The 34-year-old Indian midfielder Eugeneson Lyngdoh has signed a new deal with Odisha FC. As per a report by ‘Khel Now’, “Eugeneson Lyngdoh has put pen to paper for another Indian Super League outfit Odisha FC. The former India international will be part of the Juggernauts until the end of the 2020-21 season”
Yesterday, SC East Bengal released 7 Indian players. They are Balwant Singh, Gurtez Singh, Rafique Ali Sardar, Y. Lyngdoh, C. K. Vineeth, Samad Ali Mallik, Abhishek Ambedkar, Md. Irshad and Anil Chauhan. These players were free to join any other ISL club or I-League club on loan or in a permanent deal.
SC East Bengal head coach Robbie Fowler earlier revealed that he wants to see all the Indian players closely and the best among them will be in the squad. SC East Bengal was a 35 men squad at the start of the season. But Fowler wants to work with just 27-28 players in the rest of the season.
Yesterday SC East Bengal’s reserve team played against Bengaluru FC’s reserve team in a friendly match. This was a final test for all the Indian players to prove their worth. After the match, the SC East Bengal revealed the names of players who will be out of the team. Eugeneson Lyngdoh was one of them.
Today he secured his move to Odisha FC. Lyngdoh has faced a tough start to the season with SC East Bengal. He was sent off in the 24th minute against Jamshedpur FC. It will be interesting to see if he get back his form in a new team.
