## So, Is the Minecraft Movie on Netflix?

The short answer: **not yet — and Netflix US is not guaranteed.** Here’s the slightly longer version.

*A Minecraft Movie* is a Warner Bros. Pictures production, and WB’s primary streaming home in the US is **Max (HBO Max)**. That’s where the film will land first after its theatrical run and PVOD window — typically around 3–4 months post-release, putting it on Max sometime in mid-to-late 2025.

Netflix has been picking up select Warner Bros. films in recent years — titles like *Dune: Part Two*, *Furiosa*, and *Godzilla x Kong* all landed on Netflix — but this happens on a film-by-film basis with no formal announced deal between the two companies. If Netflix does acquire it for the US, it wouldn’t arrive until late 2025 at the earliest.

According to [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Minecraft_Movie), the film follows four unlikely heroes who get sucked into the blocky Overworld and must partner with veteran crafter Steve to find a way home — a delightfully chaotic premise that has already become a meme-fuelled phenomenon at cinemas.

European and Canadian Netflix subscribers typically wait 12–24 months, while UK audiences usually have to wait up to 3 years.

## Is Netflix Making a Minecraft Series?

Yes! Netflix has confirmed a brand-new **Minecraft animated series** is in development, produced by **WildBrain** (the team behind *Sonic Prime*). While details remain slim, the series will feature original characters and an entirely new story set in the world of Minecraft. No release date has been confirmed yet.
