Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe helped make him one of the most well-known Marvel characters. On the gaming front, Iron Man had only the 2020 Camouflaj PlayStation VR exclusive game to itself.
He appears in Marvel’s Avengers by Crystal Dynamics and Marvel’s Midnight Suns by Firaxis Games, to be sure, but those games only have a small number of playable characters.
Iron Man and Electronic Arts
However, Tony Stark fans can rejoice. Journalist Jeff Grubb of GiantBomb today disclosed that Electronic Arts is creating a second Marvel game in addition to Black Panther. Tom Henderson, a fellow insider, added that he had heard it was Iron Man after all, though he hadn’t been able to find out anything more.
Although we are unable to guess which development company would be devoted to the Iron Man project, it is an intriguing rumor. A brand-new Seattle-based studio headed by Kevin Stephens, who previously served as Vice President of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor/Shadow of War creator Monolith Productions, is producing Black Panther.
About the EA’s Lineup
As per EA’s current lineup, Motive Studios is hard at work on the Dead Space remake, which is scheduled to release on January 27th, 2023; Respawn Entertainment is putting the finishing touches on Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, which is due out in 2019 and may debut in early March; and an unnamed Star Wars first-person shooter game that is being developed by Battlefront veteran Peter Hirschmann.
Furthermore, another Seattle-based studio led by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto is reportedly working on a Battlefield single-player game. Codemasters, DICE, Criterion, and BioWare are also otherwise busy, however, the latter’s flying mechanics used in the presently Anthem could easily be rewritten into a proper Iron Man game. The lineup keeps going with a Star Wars strategy game co-developed with Bit Reactor.
