IRCTC Refund status
You can cancel your train ticket at ticket counters, on the IRCTC website, or by calling the railway telephone number 139. Within five days of an online ticket cancellation, the passenger’s bank account is credited with the qualifying refund amount. If you have to cancel the ticket that you booked with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), you are entitled to a full refund. If someone wants to return their tickets, they need to use the IRCTC portal to submit an online Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR). Refunds will be processed within 5 days and deposited back into the original bank account. Even those who bought their tickets in person had to fill out an online TDR before they can pick up their refunds at the reservation desk. Refunds are not available for Tatkal tickets, and tickets that are forgotten or lost cannot be refunded.

The AI-driven chatbot Ask DISHA has improved the accessibility of IRCTC services. Users have been asking queries, and the chatbot has been answering them in Hindi and English.
IRCTC tweeted that customers can use an OTP verification to buy tickets and request assistance for other services using its DISHA (Digital Interaction to Request Help Anytime) system. It is not necessary for users to use their IRCTC UserID and password to log in.
How To Check IRCTC Refund Status?
Step 1: visit refunds.indianrail.gov.in.
Step 2: Next, select ‘Check refund status’ from the menu on the upper right corner.
Step 3: Enter the date of travel and your PNR number now.
Step 4: To find out the status, click “Submit” at the end.
You will receive a notification confirming the status as soon as you enter your PNR. The same can appear in your account in three to four business days. If not, kindly provide the provided Reference Number to your bank or agency.
How to Receive a Refund for IRCTC Ticket Cancellation?
Step 1: Enter the Captcha and the PNR and train numbers.
Step 2: Check the box next to the policies and guidelines.
Step 3: Enter the OTP and press the Submit button after getting it on the registered mobile number.
Step 4: Take a look at the train’s PNR details.
Step 5: Click the Cancel Ticket option after verifying the details to start the cancellation process.
Step 6: A screen will display the amount that has been repaid.
Step 7: A text message with the PNR and reimbursement details will be sent.
