iQOO has now confirmed the launch date of the iQOO Z9 Turbo. The iQOO Z9 Turbo, iQOO’s most powerful Z-series phone, will be unveiled in China on April 24. The Z9 Turbo will be competing with the Redmi Turbo 3 and the upcoming Realme GT Neo 6 in the company’s home market. Both phones are equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor.
The Upcoming iQOO Z9 Turbo
iQOO later posted an image of the phone, which revealed dual rear cameras and a curved design that is similar to the Xiaomi iQOO 12. According to Jia Jingdong, the iQOO Z9 Turbo is equipped with a unique independent graphics chip Turbo and 6K VC heat dissipation, making it the only phone in its class.
He further added, “iQOO Z9 Turbo will lead the gaming performance in its price range and make sure that the all-rounder iQOO Z9 series handles business on all fronts.” As reports suggest, the Z9 series also consists of two more devices: the iQOO Z9 with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 onboard and the iQOO Z9x with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. It is not confirmed whether they will be unveiled along with the Turbo variant as of now.
iQOO now confirmed that the iQOO Z9 Turbo SoC would be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a 6,000mAh battery, a 6K VC heat dissipation unit, and a dedicated graphics chip. Additional reports suggest the Z9 Turbo will feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Z9 Turbo is expected to offer configurations with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, running on OriginOS 4-based Android 14. It will feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a dual-camera system on the back with a 50-megapixel main sensor (with OIS) and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor.
