iQOO 12 5G Set to Debut in India with Android 14-Powered Funtouch OS 14

The global unveiling of the iQOO 12 series took place on November 7, featuring the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro. The base model is set to launch in the Indian market on December 12, with no information yet on the Pro variant’s India release. The iQOO 12 boasts Qualcomm’s latest chipset and a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup, succeeding the iQOO 11 5G introduced in China in December 2022 and later in India in January this year. The company has now disclosed the OS and availability details for the handset.

The All New iQOO 12 5G

iQOO revealed that the iQOO 12 5G will debut in India with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14, making it the first non-Pixel smartphone in the country with Android 14 pre-installed. Unlike models such as the Galaxy S23, which received Android 14-based updates after the OS release in October, the iQOO 12 is set to launch with the latest Android version.

A press release from iQOO confirms that the iQOO 12 5G will be exclusively available on Amazon and the official iQOO e-store in India. The microsite for the phone is live on both platforms.

In China, the iQOO 12 is priced at CNY 3,999 (approximately ₹45,000) and CNY 4,299 (approximately ₹50,000) for the 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB variants, respectively. The top-tier 16GB RAM + 1TB variant is listed at CNY 4,699 (approximately ₹53,000). The Chinese market offers the phone in Burning Way, Legend Edition, and Track Version colors, with the Track Version featuring a BMW Motorsport-inspired finish. While the pricing details for the Indian variant are yet to be revealed, it is anticipated to share similar specifications with the Chinese counterpart.

The iQOO 12 5G boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1,260×2,800 pixels), a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and a 20:9 aspect ratio, supporting HDR10+. The phone is confirmed to be powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in India, identical to the Chinese version, and will feature an Adreno 750 GPU.
