IPL 2026 kicks off with a powerful shift in tone. The BCCI has scrapped the glitzy opening ceremony to honor the eleven victims of last year’s tragic Bengaluru stampede.

- **Respect First:** No fanfare for the opener.
- **RCB’s Tribute:** Eleven seats remain empty at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
- **Final Celebration:** A grand closing ceremony is still set for May 31.
