### Rain Crushes SRH’s Slim Playoff Hopes

SRH fans were hopeful as their team, led by **Pat Cummins**, delivered one of their best bowling performances this season. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, Cummins set the tone early by removing Karun Nair on the **first ball** of the match. The bowling unit, including **Jaydev Unadkat**, **Eshaan Malinga**, and **Zeeshan Ansari**, restricted DC to a modest **133 for 7**.

It was a match SRH looked well on track to win. But the rain gods intervened during the innings break, and despite extended waiting, the game was called off—leaving the Hyderabad crowd and players devastated.

With only three matches left and a maximum of **13 points possible**, SRH can no longer make it to the top four. Their current tally of **7 points from 11 matches**, with a poor **Net Run Rate of -1.192**, seals their fate.

They now join **Chennai Super Kings (CSK)** and **Rajasthan Royals (RR)** as the teams officially out of contention for the IPL 2025 playoffs.

### A Bright Spot in a Gloomy Season

Despite the rain ruining the night, there were moments SRH can take into next season. Cummins was exceptional, taking **3 wickets** in his first three overs, and the bowling unit finally clicked after a disappointing season. However, this too-late resurgence couldn’t compensate for their earlier inconsistencies.

### Delhi Capitals Get Lucky—but Must Stay Sharp

While SRH’s campaign ended in heartbreak, **Delhi Capitals** will be relieved to walk away with **one point**—boosting their total to **13 points** and keeping their playoff hopes alive. However, with upcoming matches against **Punjab Kings**, **Mumbai Indians**, and **Gujarat Titans**, DC must win all to secure a spot in the top four.

For Pat Cummins and the SRH think tank, this season will serve as a crucial learning curve. The team showed flashes of brilliance, but inconsistent performances—especially from the bowling unit early on—cost them dearly.

As they look ahead to IPL 2026, expect SRH to revamp their squad in the auction, possibly focusing on depth in both the bowling department and middle-order stability.
