KKR have defeated MI by 24 runs, bowling then out for 145 while defending a target of 170 at the Wankhede Stadium. The Kolkata franchise are now second in the table, two points behind league leaders Rajasthan Royals who have 16 points from ten games.
Both teams were all-out, and were unable to finish their 20 overs in either innings. KKR’s top order was unable to have much of an impact in the game, but Venkatesh Iyer’s 70 runs from 52 deliveries and Manish Pandey’s 42-run innings helped them achieve a total of 169 at the end of their innings.

Ishan Kishan got off to a good start for the Indians before being bowled by Mitchell Starc right after a four and a six. From there, KKR’s spinners took over the innings with Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy taking two wickets each.
With Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir on their heels, Suryakumar Yadav stepped up once again. Having recently been called up to the India national team for the T20 World Cup, he scored a half century to justify his call-up. But, wasn’t able to see the innings through, as he was dismissed for 56.
Starc returned to the bowling attack and cleared house, finishing with a figure of 4-33 after 3.5 overs bowled. KKR deservingly won the game, impressing with their bowling and fielding to defend their rather low target.
