The IPL 2023 is already here, and the first few matches have been phenomenal for the fans. Many big names appear in the grand cricket celebrations, while few are missing out due to injuries or personal commitments.

Shakib Al Hasan to not feature in IPL 2023: here’s why
At the mini-auction in December 2022, the Bangladesh skipper and allrounder was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 1.50 crores. He was recently included in the squad for the only Test against Ireland at Dhaka.
Reports suggest the 36-year-old player had already informed his IPL franchise earlier about his unavailability for the complete season. Personal reasons are believed to be the primary cause for his absence from the tournament. According to the report, Shakib Al Hasan has some personal commitments to fulfil with his family residing in the US, following which he has decided to step back from this edition.
Shakib Al Hasan has been an old member of the KKR, having stayed between 2011 and 2017, which included two victorious campaigns in 2014 and 2017. He had his tenure with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 and 2019 and got back to KKR again in 2021 where the team reached the finals after seven years.
He has 793 runs in the tournament in 71 games and has picked up 63 wickets.
