Injuries are a big part of cricket, thats a fact. Frustrating? Absolutely.

But I’m now in a scenario where I can get back to doing what I love and work bloody hard to become an even better player than before.

Delhi Capitals seem to be the worst affected team so far, with three of their key players nursing injuries. Rishabh Pant, who was the captain of the team, suffered an injury in a car accident last year. Anrich Nortje and Sarfaraz Khan are the other two players who are currently sidelined due to injuries. It remains to be seen how the Capitals will cope without their star players.

Mumbai Indians, who have won the IPL a record five times, have also been hit hard by injuries. Jasprit Bumrah, one of the best fast bowlers in the world, is suffering from a back injury that has ruled him out of the tournament. Jhye Richardson, who was bought by the team for a whopping sum, is also out with a hamstring injury. Mumbai Indians will have to rely on other bowlers to step up in the absence of Bumrah and Richardson.

Chennai Super Kings, the second most successful franchise in the IPL, has also suffered a setback. Ben Stokes, who was bought by the team in the auction, is out with a knee injury. Kyle Jamieson, who was also bought by the team, has a back stress fracture. Their absence could hurt the team’s chances of winning the tournament.

Punjab Kings, who finished sixth in the last edition of the IPL, is currently seeking a replacement for Jonny Bairstow, who broke his left leg and dislocated his ankle while playing golf last year. Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders have also been hit by injuries, with Prasidh Krishna and Shreyas Iyer both out with injuries.

The injuries to these players have raised concerns among fans and team management alike. IPL is a long and gruelling tournament, with each team playing 14 matches in the league stage alone. With the added pressure of playoffs and the final, it is crucial that teams have a full-strength squad at their disposal. Injuries are an inevitable part of sports, and it is up to the teams to manage their players’ workload and fitness to avoid such setbacks.

The absence of these injured players could have a significant impact on their team’s performance in the upcoming IPL 2023. It will be interesting to see how the teams cope with the absence of their key players and whether they can find replacements who can step up and fill the void left by their injured stars.
