RCB players Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will be the two major names who will be retained in the team. The two players are automatic picks for the franchise. AB de Villiers is also being considered for the captaincy role for at least two seasons. The Men in Red will have a big task while adding the names of the players in the retention list. Apart from Kohli and AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal and Devdutt Padikkal will be a part of the RCB squad.
Players the franchise is going to retain
Virat Kohli (slab-1)– The former captain of the team, Virat Kohli has confirmed his place in the team. It is considered that he will be retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). His paycheck in the last four seasons of IPL has been Rs 17 crore. Retained players are given the freedom to negotiate their salaries with the franchise, Virat Kohli is expected to become the most expensive player of IPL 2022.
AB de Villiers- Slab 2 (Rs 12 Crore)– Ab de Villiers is the second most favourite player of RCB after Virat Kohli. The South African player with 5000+ runs is likely to get paid Rs 8 crore as the new price tag. Previously he got paid around 11 crore. His failure in IPL 2021 makes him fit for the mentioned price.
Yuzvendra Chahal- Slab 3 (Rs 8 Crore)– Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the finest spinners in the T20s. His record of 139 wickets in 113 matches give him an average of 22.04. Since his debut in 2014, he remained a loyal player. He had a good season in IPL 2021 and is expected to be kept in the team for the next season.
Devdutt Padikkal Slab 4 (Rs 4 Crore)– Devdutt Padikkal, the opening batter has given amazing performances in the last four seasons. he scored 411 and 473 in IPL 2020 and 2021 respectively. His consistency is to be rewarded by the franchise and the youngster will be getting paid around 4 crores.
