CVC owned Lucknow team is yet to get a green signal from BCCI. In IPL Governing Council and BCCI meeting, a committee has been set up to make a decision on Ahmedabad team ownership. Later, the decision got delayed

The officials from CVC have already reached Mumbai but BCCI is yet to give a date.
The board officials have reported that the appointed committee would be presenting their results by next week.

Further, the BCCI official cleared it out that the Lucknow franchise is on hold on to any signing official announcement.

“Even Lucknow IPL team will not do any signing or announcement till the matter of Ahmedabad franchise is not sorted. We will give equal time to both sides to complete 3 signings before auctions and for other requisities”, said the top BCCI official.

Both Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises were given a deadline of 25th December.

Now with the delay, the timelines will be pushed to NEW YEAR. Though the board is yet to announce the new deadline. If the Ahmedabad issue is sorted by next week, the new teams will be given 15-20days extra to finalise their signings. We may conclude that the Mega Auctions for IPL 2022 will be starting at the 3rd or 4th week of January 2022.
