The Board of Control for Cricket in India has previously confirmed that the rest of the IPL 2021 would be held in the United Arab Emirates from September 19 to October 15, 2021. In addition, on the evening of Sunday, July 25, the BCCI released the tournament’s official schedule.
The El Clasico match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will kick off Phase 2 of the IPL 2021 competition on September 19. The final will take place in Dubai on Friday, October 15th. Phase 2 will last for a total of 24 days, with a total of 31 matches taking place throughout that time. There would be a total of 7 double-headers, with three on weekdays and four on weekends.
When it comes to the venues, the matches will be held at three different locations. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah are among the locations. There will be a total of 13 matches in Dubai, including the final on October 15. A total of ten matches will be played in Sharjah, including two knockout matches. Abu Dhabi, on the other hand, will host a total of eight matches, none of which will be knockout matches.
The official IPL account tweeted, “BCCI announces schedule for remainder of VIVO IPL 2021 in UAE. The 14th season, will resume on 19th September in Dubai with the final taking place on 15th October.”
So, we’re only two months away from the second phase of the world’s hottest T20 tournament. No teams will have home advantage, similar to the IPL 2020, which saw the entire tournament held in the United Arab Emirates. Instead, all teams will play on neutral locations. To reiterate, the Delhi Capitals are now in first place in the points standings, having won six of their eight games. They are followed by Chennai Super Kings, who have won five games in a row, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have won five games in a row. Mumbai Indians, the current champions, are in fourth place with four victories in seven games.
