Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj created IPL history as he became the first player to bowl back-to-back maiden overs in the Indian Premier League.

Not just maiden overs, he picked up two back-to-back wicket maidens as he picked up two wickets in his first and one in his second over respectively.

He accomplished this outstanding accomplishment during yesterday’s match when Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Kolkata Knight Riders. Both RCB and KKR being at third and fourth position respectively, desperately wanted this win to get into the top two positions of the points table. After winning the toss, KKR skipper Eoin Morgan confidently chose to bat first. However, that decision obviously backfired.

Siraj displayed brilliant swing bowling!

Siraj was brought in as a replacement and that decision obviously paid off. He first took the wicket of Rahul Tripathi who could be a very dangerous batsman. On the very next ball, he sent the talented Nitish Rana towards the pavilion.

It was quite evident that Siraj was targeting full test match style length and trying to swing the ball under Shaikh Zayed conditions. Tripathi was dismissed by an out-swinger which took the outside edge. Rana, however, was deceived by an in-swinger that disturbed his timber.

He followed the same approach in his next over against another young, talented, and dangerous Tom Banton. Banton had a great Big Bash and is well versed in facing fast bowlers. Siraj, however, used Banton’s aggression against him as he pitched the ball full and slightly outside the off-stump inviting the drive. Banton fell into the trap as he attempted a cover drive that got an outside edge to the keeper.

Siraj conceded only 8 runs off his four overs with an economy of only 2.00. He finished with outstanding figures of 4-2-8-3! Kohli would be extremely happy to add Siraj to his bowling reliable lineup of Morris, Saini, and Chahal.
