The weekend will conclude with probably one of the most heated rivalries of this season as Delhi Capitals will take on Mumbai Indians.
Capitals stand as table toppers by winning 5 of the six matches played. MI, on the other hand, is in second place with 4 wins in six matches! The winner of this match will not only reach the top but will stamp an authority during the first half of IPL 2020.
Capitals are coming off the clinical destruction of the Rajasthan Royals. Indians are coming off a dominating win over Rajasthan Royals as well.
Delhi Capitals
The Capitals have been phenomenal this IPL. Each and every player has been in form and knows his role in the side. As per batting is concerned, they would like Shikhar Dhawan to gain some form but he has been in decent touch. Skipper Iyer along with Shaw, Pant, Stoinis, and Hetmyer have played well.
The same has been the story for bowling. Everybody, as been doing their part and bowling, has improved even more with the addition of Ravichandran Ashwin. Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Harshal Patel, and Axar Patel have looked great.
Mumbai Indians
Similar has been the case for MI. Quinton de Kock who looked out of touch regained form as well. Skipper Rohit Sharma has been scoring consistently. Every batsman De Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, and Hardik Pandya have looked great.
Jasprit Bumrah and spin bowlers looked out of rhythm during the initial days but are working in great harmony now. Every bowler namely Trent Boult, James Pattinson, Jasprit Bumrah, Rahul Chahar, and Krunal Pandya have done great. Pollard has provided some good overs as a sixth bowler as Hardik Pandya can’t bowl as he has recently gone through a surgery.
Fantasy XI team
ROHIT SHARMA (10.5) (C) – Hitman has been timing the ball beautifully. He has scored two great half-centuries and also set a platform for Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard to explode. He’ll be our captain.
SHREYAS IYER (9.5) (VC) -Iyer has been in really good form throughout the season. He adapts to the situation and plays accordingly. He has scored 181 runs in the season with a strike rate of 143.65.
QUINTON DE KOCK (9) – De Kock has regained form with his innings against SRH and RR.
ISHAN KISHAN (8.5) – After what he did in his first match against RCB, it’s pretty self-explanatory why he makes the place.
HARDIK PANDYA (9) – Hardik Pandya has looked in great form. He does not take time to settle and can explode at any moment.
SURYAKUMAR YADAV (9) – Yadav has been in great form. He’s coming off a beautiful 79 runs in only 47 balls against RR.
PRITHVI SHAW (9) – Shaw has been in great form scoring three fifties in six matches. Due to shorter boundaries, he can maximize the powerplay overs.
MARCUS STOINIS (9) – Stoinis has looked great and has provided both runs and wickets at crucial stages. He’s coming off a wonderful fifty against the formidable CSK batting lineup.
KAGISO RABADA (9.5) – Rabada has been the highest wicket-taker of the season so far.
TRENT BOULT (8.5) – Boult has been doing a good job by keeping things tight and picking wickets as well.
ANRICH NORTJE (8.5) – Nortje has impressed everyone with his speed. He has been a great wicket-taker for Capitals.
PREDICTION
This match is incredibly difficult to predict as both the teams match equally and are doing great in all three departments. However, Delhi has a better spin bowling lineup and a better sixth bowling option than MI. Therefore, the Delhi Capitals will defeat the Mumbai Indians.
