The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) finally kicked off on 19th September. The match paid equal justice to the much-awaited day as arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings took on defending champions, Mumbai Indians.
CSK seemed the relatively weaker side on paper, however, captain cool MSD had many tricks up his sleeve as per managing his resources. Chennai Super Kings defeated the mighty Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets to begin their campaign.
The first match of IPL 2020 has created a record. The MI vs CSK match has notched up 200 million viewership. It is the highest ever TV and Digital viewership in IPL history.

Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, BCCI has managed to successfully host this T20 tournament in UAE and there has been no shortage of sponsors either. This clearly states the popularity of IPL worldwide.
