# iPhone SE Plus could launch next year, iPhone SE 3 postponed

It was earlier rumored that the Apple iPhone SE 3 would be launching in 2022 and that it would be the last iPhone to feature an LCD since newer models sport OLED displays. While the iPhone SE 3 could still end up being the last LCD iPhone, the latest rumor is that the launch date has been postponed, and instead, we may be getting an iPhone SE Plus in 2022.

As per a report by analyst [Ross Young](https://twitter.com/DSCCRoss/status/1452783737146462209?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1452783737146462209%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gizmochina.com%2F2021%2F10%2F26%2Fiphone-se-plus-with-5g-coming-next-year-iphone-se-3-postponed%2F), the company may launch the iPhone SE Plus with 5G connectivity support in 2022. Display analyst Ross Young said on Twitter that the iPhone SE model with an LCD will be called the iPhone SE Plus. It will have the same 4.7-inch screen as iPhone SE 2020 and the iPhone 8, but it will have 5G connectivity, thanks to the use of the A15 Bionic processor. The iPhone SE 3, on the other hand, is poised to feature a display of 5.7-inch to 6.1-inch size. The speculation is that the iPhone SE 3 will look similar to the iPhone XR and have an LCD, too. But Young said the iPhone SE 3 may now arrive sometime in 2023.

We also expect it to be powered by the latest A15 Bionic chipset since Apple will be introducing the next-gen processor in quarter three of 2022. Moreover, since the iPhone SE Plus is expected to feature an LCD, it is likely not to have a 120Hz refresh rate. Previous reports says that the iPhone SE 3 will be based on the iPhone XR’s design. Apple is also said to be will be sticking to a 2-year update cycle for the iPhone SE line. 

We do not know much more about the specifications and features of the upcoming iPhone SE Plus and iPhone SE 3. As of know, we do not know the exact launch date of the upcoming iPhone SE Plus or the iPhone SE 3, but more details could surface in the months to come.
