It has been a few hours since @URedditor, a prominent tipster on Twitter, shared some intriguing details about the upcoming iPhone 16 series. According to their latest update, there are two significant upgrades that haven’t been discussed before. Moreover, we now have further insights into display sizes, model identifiers, and improvements to the periscope camera.

Following Apple’s previous release patterns, the iPhone 16 series is expected to include two “Pro” models.

However, this time around, there are rumors of an increase in display sizes. While the initial figures mentioned a 6.3-inch display for the 16 Pro and a larger 6.9-inch panel for the iPhone 16 Pro Max (possibly known as the iPhone 16 Ultra), @URedditor clarifies that these are rough estimates, and the actual numbers may vary slightly. Unfortunately, no specific details regarding the exact dimensions have been revealed yet.

The model identifiers for the upcoming models have also been disclosed. The iPhone 16 Pro will carry the identifier D93, while the “Pro Max” variant will be identified as D94. On the other hand, it appears that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will maintain the same display sizes as their predecessors, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, with 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively.

Turning to the cameras, exciting news emerges that both 2024 “Pro” models are rumored to feature a periscope zoom lens. This means that Apple’s devoted customers won’t need to opt for the iPhone 16 Pro Max to enjoy this feature, as they had to with the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

While details regarding potential improvements to the sensor and lens hardware behind the periscope zoom lens remain speculative, there are murmurs of a possible introduction of a larger 1/1.14-inch physical sensor for the main camera in the iPhone 16 series. This would mark an upgrade from the current 1/1.28-inch unit utilized by Apple.

Overall, these recent updates have generated anticipation among Apple enthusiasts, as they eagerly await further information on the iPhone 16 series and the exciting features it promises to bring.
