Apple will be releasing its flagship iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models on September 12th 2023 and these devices will include numerous improvements, such as improved build quality and camera hardware. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will reportedly have a periscope lens for improved zoom capabilities.
However, sources claim that the iPhone 15 Pro Max may face a significant delay due to severe supply yield concerns with Sony’s image sensors.
The release of the iPhone 15 Pro is something which everyone is looking forward to since the device will come with a 3nm A17 Bionic chip. But, according to a leaker by the name of Revegnus on X, the image sensor supplier’s yield troubles could cause the iPhone 15 Pro Max to be delayed by up to four weeks.
Apple will be looking to better compete with the likes of Galaxy S23 Ultra and the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra in the camera segment. Hence we will be seeing a new periscope camera lens for improved zoom capabilities for the larger iPhone 15 model. The serious Sony yield problems could result in a month-long delay for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
There is currently no news of what is actually causing the delay problems also there is no news as to whether Apple has recognised the problem or has developed any solutions. So we can only speculate that the product which we were most looking forward to will be inevitably delayed.
In other news, Apple is all set to update its iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models with a Dynamic Island cutout on the front. Also let’s not forget that this will be the first time Apple will be abandoning the Lightning port in favour of USB-C in an iPhone. We can assume that the new USB-C will come with Thunderbolt capabilities for higher data transfer and charging speeds.
Stay tuned for more updates on the iPhone 15 models.
