Apple is likely to announce the iPhone 15 series as well as new Apple Watch models during an event scheduled for Tuesday, September 12. Apple has yet to publicly announce the event, but invitations should be distributed within the next week or two.
According to DigiTimes, iPhone 15 Pro models will be $100 to $200 more expensive than iPhone 14 Pro models, implying that beginning prices for the handsets might range from $1,099 to $1,299 USD.
Apple has been experimenting with different grey tones for a while now. The iPhone 11 Pro came in Space Grey, whereas the iPhone 12 Pro and 13 Pro came in Graphite, which was later replaced by Black with the release of the iPhone 14 Pro. But Apple won’t be selling the new iPhone Pro in gold for the first time in years.
At least, that’s what the most recent 9to5Mac story asserts. The new Titan Grey colour will completely replace the Gold when Apple introduces the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) in September. Titan Grey is a concrete-like grey.
The colour shift could be related to a rumoured new feature on the iPhone 15 Pro — the titanium frame, which will allegedly replace the stainless steel frame on existing models. The Titan Grey should complement the titanium, however the overall package is a little, well, too grey in renderings; ideally, it’ll look a little more stunning in person.
Several additional sources have already reported that price rises for the iPhone 15 Pro variants are possible. It would be the first time Apple has hiked the starting price of its most expensive iPhones since the iPhone X debuted in 2017.
According to photographs shared on social media, all four iPhone 15 models could come with color-matched braided USB-C charging cables. The new cable may be 50% longer than the one-meter Lightning cord bundled with iPhone 14 models, although it may still be limited to USB 2.0 data transmission speeds. Faster speeds on the Pro variants may be attainable with an additional cable purchased separately.
