iPhone 14 Pro could only sport A16 Bionic chip while other models will still have A15

There’s an interesting rumour that has come up recently thanks to the Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is often very accurate with Apple stuff has stated that not every iPhone this year will sport the upcoming A16 Bionic. So, as the heading suggests Apple, who has never differentiated between chipsets for both its Pro and Non-Pro lineup is finally said to be making this differentiation.

Though the A16 Bionic is said to be a lot more powerful than its predecessor A15 Bionic currently used in iPhone 13 and 13 Pro lineup, also being used in the new iPhone SE 3, it doesn’t mean the A15 chip is a bad one.

Only two Pro models would upgrade to the A16 processor, while the 14 & 14 Max will remain the A15. All four new models will likely come with 6GB RAM, with the difference being LPDDR 5 (14 Pro & 14 Pro Max) vs. LPDDR 4X (14 & 14 Max). https://t.co/tHcszIz6gX

Actually, these chips are so powerful that replacing every year for all models makes no sense so, even if Apple retains A15 Bionic on Non-Pro models but brings a lot of necessary changes that would be more beneficial. So, as these rumours point out, the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro‌ and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max will get the A16 chip treatment while the 6.1-inch iPhone 14‌ and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14‌ Max retain the A15 Bionic.

Interestingly, it is being also stated that all four of the ‌iPhone 14‌ models are likely to come with 6GB of memory whereas the normal iPhone 14s will sport LPDDR4X memory and the Pro models will sport the newer LPDDR5 memory.

Obviously, those newer RAMs will provide faster speeds even though coming with the same RAM capacity, however, you do have to note all of these are rumours which could change in the course of time.
