iOS 19, which is expected to be announced in around half a year, already gives a few rumors regarding what features it will bring. The leak also suggests a redesigned Camera app, with all menus featuring a new, translucent look — the same design that’s making its way to the visionOS platform employed by the Apple Vision Pro headset. You will see more of the scene in the viewfinder, and controls will be separated into Photo and Video categories.

As for Siri, Gurman says the digital assistant will also be getting smarter and be able to handle more complex requests, but this capability will not arrive until the spring of 2026, likely introduced in iOS 19.4. Meanwhile, both Siri in iOS 18.2 and 18.4 will gain integration with ChatGPT, the company’s on-screen awareness and better per-app controls. The iOS 19 rollout will be gradual, and many functionalities are anticipated to be delivered in later updates — mainly as per version numbers iOS 19.1 through to iOS 19.4.

iPhones compatible with iOS 19 will include models that can run iOS 18, such as the iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 series, and even the iPhone XS and XR, which were released in 2018. While older devices may miss some new features, iOS 19 will maintain broad compatibility, similar to iOS 18, which didn’t drop support for older models. The first iOS 19 beta is expected to arrive during WWDC 2025, with a full release anticipated in September.
