Inter Miami are yet to become a top team in the MLS, following their highly anticipated debut season. They managed to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Europe as their marquee signing, but it did not pay off for the South Florida based franchise.
But the American club is not willing to sit back. They are going to spend more on transfers, and Alexis Sanchez of Inter Milan is reportedly on their list. The news comes from AS, who have not confirmed which American club is interested in Sanchez. However, it is Miami in all likelihood.
The player wants to leave Inter Milan as well, following the departure of Antonio Conte. Playing time has reduced drastically for Sanchez, which is the main reason behind his unhappiness at Inter Milan.
The 32-year-old joined Inter Milan from Manchester United on an initial loan deal two years ago. Manchester United let him go to Inter for free, taking off his huge wages off the book, in 2020. Sanchez has since made 78 appearances for Inter Milan, scoring 11 goals and providing 20 assists.
For the Chilean national team, Sanchez has earned a remarkable 142 caps and has scored 42 times for them. His country is yet to achieve World Cup qualification. As a result, it is unlikely that Sanchez would risk his spot in the national team and head to the MLS. The interest from Inter Miami makes the move possible at some point in the future, if not right now.
