The Derby d’Italia finished level between Juventus and Inter Milan, with the scoreline reading 1-1 at the end of the 90. Both teams took a point each following Paulo Dybala’s late penalty to salvage a point for the Bianconeri.
The hosts took the lead 17 minutes into the game, with Edin Dzeko continuing his scoring streak for Inter Milan. The striker now has seven goals in the league, and is only one behind Ciro Immobile in the race for the top scorer award. His returns are quite remarkable considering he only joined the Nerazzurri this summer from Roma.
The veteran striker converted Hakan Calhanoglu’s effort off the post to open the scoring, but was unable to add to his tally during the remainder of the match. Simeone Inzaghi was shown a red card after Juventus were awarded a penalty.
The Inter Milan manager threw something at the pitch in frustration and was asked to leave the sidelines in the 88th minute. The manager will not be allowed to stand at the touchline during Inter’s next game against Empoli in the league.
Both teams had chances to extend the scoring, but neither of them was clinical enough to do so. Inter managed to get two out of ten shots on target, while Juventus had four of their 16 efforts on target. Despite the offensive display produced by both the teams, they will have to be content with a point from the derby.
