Intel’s Battlemage GPUs Set to Launch in Early December 2024

Intel next next-generation “Battlemage” GPUs are launching on or before December 3rd, according to an exclusive on Videocardz. Intel is finally pulling back the curtain on the release date for its Battlemage desktop GPUs.

The line up to launch in the first week of December with the initial models being the Arc Battlemage B580 and B570 primed and ready to go. Intel’s AIB partners have already confirmed these specific details, and the company will launch “Limited Edition” models of their respective GPUs, similar to their foundry Sapphire release with Arc GPUs.

Intel’s ‘Battlemage’ GPUs Set for December 12 Launch with Two Models

Intel’s review embargo on these GPUs will be lifted around mid-December, but it comes with a twist. Reviews of the “Limited Edition” model will be released under embargo on December 12, while custom AIB model reviews will be released under embargo a day later on December 13. This staggered system of reviews appears to be intended to put the focus on Intel’s in-house model first, potentially building interest and driving initial sales ahead of the custom models reaching customers.

Details on other variants are, however, scarce while the original Battlemage launch seems quite limited with a focus on the B580 and B570. Higher-end models may follow later in 2025, but this has not yet been confirmed. We are already getting leaks on the outside of the Arc Battlemage B580 from Geekbench and retailers, where the GPU is likely to sell for around $250-260 which should be a lower-end GPU for Intel’s arsenal.

The Arc Battlemage B580 will feature 12GB of 192-bit GDDR6 memory backed by the Intel Battlemage BMG-G21 GPU, which runs on Intel’s Xe2-HPG Architecture and packs in 20 Xe Cores. Its peak boost clock is as high as 2850 MHz and it also supports Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) and Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (Intel XMX) for better performance. Details about the Arc Battlemage B570 remain sparse, but it is expected to be a lower-end model, possibly replacing the Arc A570. With the release just days away, Intel’s approach to next-gen desktop GPUs will soon be fully revealed.
