Intel has unveiled the Intel AI Playground tool, a new utility made specifically for Intel Arc users. First shown off at Computex, the AI Playground app can now be downloaded from Intel’s website. This free, open-source Windows application is in beta and allows everyone to try a variety of Generative AI features: image generation with chatbots based on Intel Arc-based graphics.
The All New Intel’s AI Playground
The AI Playground works with the Intel Arc 580, A750, and A770 GPUs which have a minimum of 8GB RAM. It has PCs powered by Intel’s Meteor Lake Core Ultra-H processors, but this specific CPU variant remains in the oven. It leverages an open-source toolkit for deep learning that is called OpenVINO or the Open Visual Inference & Neural Network Optimisation.
The application offers several key features such as new images can be generated based on text prompts, and existing images can get upgraded in quality and resolution as well as manipulated. You also get a chatbot feature that helps with different tasks like file search, writing codes, and managing your schedules. User-friendly Supplementary to the AI Playground there is a very easy way into intelligent computing without knowledge of machine learning.
This feature involves prompts to help the user select the right model for each task, and the model can be downloaded or the user’s own model can be used. All the data and prompts are kept local to the computer so that no one sees them, preserving privacy. The chatbot feature falls under direct competition with NVIDIA’s ChatRTX and AMD’s Chatbot support for tasks like file management, coding, or scheduling management.
The image enhancement tool confers the users the liberty to upscale, stylize, inpaint or outpaint, and edit their images including the faces. For those interested in connecting with other users and optimizing their experience, the Community is available on Discord. This platform allows users to interact with one another and share tips and insights.
