New leaks have revealed Intel’s planned Lunar Lake CPUs which could include the Core Ultra 7 268V – set to be released in September. Core Ultra 200V series will count nine SKUs, and the Core Ultra 7 268V would be a standalone CPU immediately below its faster sibling. While the core configurations are virtually identical, there’s a subtle difference between them in terms of GPU setup and onboard memory.

The Upcoming Intel Core Ultra 7 268V Lunar Lake CPU

The Intel Core Ultra 7 268V “Lunar Lake” CPU is an 8-core setup with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. It has 8 threads, 12 MB of L3 cache, and a base clock of 3.30 GHz. Furthermore, the boost clock is up to 5.0 GHz. In addition, the CPU has 32 GB of on-package LPDDR5X-8533 memory, and it has an Arc 140V integrated GPU with up to 8 Xe2 cores operating at 2.0 GHz. The CPU has a 17W TDP at PL1 and a 30W TDP at PL2. However, recent Geekbench 6 benchmarks on the Core Ultra 7 268V resulted in 2915 points in single-core and 11,448 points in multi-core tests.

These tests were conducted on the Khadas Mind MakerKit platform, a compact AI workstation and development kit with active cooling. This platform currently uses Intel’s Meteor Lake CPUs, indicating that Lunar Lake will be integrated into future AI platforms. Intel is also expected to release its Lunar Lake DevKit next month.

The benchmarks indicate a 7.4% improvement in single-core performance and a 14.0% boost in multi-core performance over previous scores. The CPU fluctuated between 4.6 and 5.0 GHz, suggesting there may be further enhancements in the final retail versions.

In terms of graphics performance, the Core Ultra 7 268V scored 29,316 points, comparable to the Arc A370M and Arc A310 graphics. They are also working on some performance optimizations for their OpenCL driver, which has seen limitations with Intel’s Arc drivers to date; we can expect better results when the Xe2 GPU is tested with Vulkan API however. Intel’s Lunar Lake CPUs are expected to be available for purchase starting September 3rd, with more details and official specifications to follow.
