The Intel Core i9-14900KS has been spotted on the websites of retailers, in Europe and the initial price listings indicate that this top-tier CPU will be priced higher than the Core i9-14900K. While it’s always tricky to rely on prices before a product launch one listing stands out with a price tag above €700 or around $750.
The All New Intel Core i9-14900KS
Leaks about upcoming hardware often come from smaller regional stores rather than big names like Amazon or Newegg making them harder to trace. One leak, shared by @momomo_us on X platform revealed two listings for the Core i9-14900KS from a retailer whose identity remains unknown. Several other listings for the 14900KS have surfaced, including one from Singer in Austria and three from retailers. These prices are compared below excluding the Singers listing as it seems high at over €1,000 and converted francs to euros.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding launch prices the consistency of these prices—especially, among Swiss retailers—adds credibility to their accuracy. Priced at €700 the Intel Core i9-14900KS is expected to cost around €100 more, than its model. This price increase follows a pattern seen with the Core i9 13900KS, which was released at $699 while the standard Core i9-13900K was priced at $589. Based on this trend it is likely that the 14900KS will be priced at $699, in the U.S.
Moreover, the presence of these listings strongly suggests that the rumored March launch date for the Intel Core i9-14900KS could indeed be accurate. Premature listings typically emerge shortly before the intended launch date, although the 14900KS was initially spotted as early as November at an Israeli retailer.
Regarding its competitiveness, the performance of the Core i9-14900KS remains uncertain. It is expected to boast a boost clock of 6.2 GHz, setting a new record for out-of-the-box frequency among CPUs. Upon its launch, it will stand as Intel’s fastest CPU and potentially the fastest gaming CPU available. However, its superiority over the 14900K, which reaches a clock speed of 6.0 GHz, remains unclear. Additionally, the anticipated release of Zen 5-based Ryzen CPUs later in the year suggests that the 14900KS may face stiff competition in the near future.
