Upcoming Intel Core i7-12650H leaked, confusing to have 10 cores

While Intel always tries to simple their naming and product schemes but they somehow end up making them more complex than ever. While it’s no secret that Intel will launch their new Alder Lake-P processors for mobile next month after the successful launch of the 12th Gen desktop SKUs, the naming scheme seems confusing again.

Its upcoming laptop CPUs have been already in leaks for quite some time now and the Core i5-12500H seems to sport 12 cores. However, the upcoming Intel Core i7-12650H processor will sport 10 cores while the Core i5 sports more cores than the Core i7.

This Intel Core i7-12650H has recently made its appearance on Geekbench where it shows it being tested with the integrated graphics in the OpenCL test. The processor also has 16 threads that mean it could sport 6 Golden Cove cores and 4 Gracemont cores hopefully.

However, it gets a bit confusing, especially the lineup as the Core i7-12650H sports 10 cores while the Core i5-12500H sports 12 cores but only 4 of them are Performance cores. So, while Intel has already started to make things confusing but looks to provide more horsepower than before surely.

The benchmark seemed to be taken on a Lenovo laptop and scores 13,864 points which seems a decent score for an iGPU. The integrated graphics used in the Intel Core i7-12650H features Xe-LP graphics with 64 Execution Units while performing like GTX 760 to Radeon RX 550 level, you shouldn’t worry about this at all because mostly it will be used with a discrete graphics card.
