The Intel Core i7-11700K has been recently been spotted on Geekbench by @TUM_APISAK and the results seem weirder than before as there’s a performance drop. It was spotted running on a Colorful Z590M GAMING PRO motherboard along with 16GB RAM.
The CPU specs have been confirmed when spotted on PassMark and the base frequency of the Core i7-11700K will be 3.60 GHz and boost clock speeds of 5.0 GHz. Also, Intel has increased the L3 cache to 16 MB that has greatly helped the performance of these CPUs.
As we see, the Geekbench scoring 1551 points in single-core while managing only 8849 points in multi-threaded tests. This is a huge dip in performance than we saw earlier as previously the best score from this CPU was 1810 points single-core and 11304 points multi-core.
Well, although the new scores are a letdown, these new Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs are making so much of their presence available on Geekbench that it seems Intel is counting on its new 11th Gen processors that are unfortunately capped to 8 cores only.
