The upcoming Intel CPU has been spotted on UserBenchmark and it is the Core i5-10600, a 6-core, 12-threaded Comet Lake processor. Thanks to Tum Apisak who has unearthed the chip with a high benchmark result of 91.4% and along with an impressive single-core score of 143 points.

The Intel Core i5-10600 was recorded at a base clock of 3.3 GHz along with an average turbo clock speed of 4.15 GHz (4.3 GHz max expected). On the other hand, the 6-core Ryzen 5 3600 has a lower performance than the Intel Core i5-10600, with an average bench percentage of 87.9%.

This is based over 216,000 samples tested on the UserBenchmark. The surprising thing is that even though the Comet Lake CPU scores higher in the single-core and quad-core tests but the Mantisse CPU performs better in the 2-core, 8-core, and 64-core benchmarks.

When the points are awarded on basis of normal, heavy, and extreme test, the Core i5-10600 scores 1,780 points while the Ryzen 5 3600 performs better with 1,880 points.

Intel Core i5-10600 sample grabs higher bench result on UserBenchmark than AMD Ryzen 5 3600

It’s surprising to see that even though the Ryzen CPU performs better in three out of five CPU tests along with the better overall score, the Core i5-10600 is crowned with higher benchmark percentage of 91.4% vs. 87.9% that of AMD’s.

This is most likely because of the fact that UserBenchmark is biased to those CPUs which have better single-core performance which helps in lot of applications as well as gaming. So, Intel CPUs enjoy having the advantage, while you cannot deny that the Comet Lake chip’s performance is impressive.

With 6 cores and 12 threads, the Core i5-10600 will be ideal for mid-range gamers, provided Intel prices them smartly because the Ryzen 5 3600 prices have fallen and they enjoy the AM4 socket advantage. Not to forget, the Ryzen 4000 desktop CPUs are on its way in September.
