New Intel Arrow Lake CPUs

Intel offered the following information on Arrow Lake processors throughout the recent preview event. The processors will come in a few different versions, and the official appearance will take place a few weeks ago at Computex 2024. Intel teased its next-gen Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200” Desktop CPU during the preview, revealing it to be a monolithic design housing multiple tiles, including CPU, GPU, SOC, and IO tiles.

Based on the prototype represented here, Intel’s Arrow Lake-S CPU die is likely an 8+16 design, encompassing eight P-Cores supported by the Lion Cove core design and sixteen E-Cores by the Skymont architecture. The prototype additionally contained presumably at least four Low-Power Crestmont E-Cores allocated on the SOC Tile and 2 or 4 Xe-cores on the GPU Tile. Intel is expected to introduce around thirteen SKUs in the Arrow Lake-S Core Ultra 200 CPU family.

The first released include the top unlocked “K” series chips – the Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K, and Core Ultra 5 245K, followed by Non-K 65W and 35W CPU models. The upcoming Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs will include compatibility with the LGA 1851 socket and the newest 800-series motherboards, including a flagship Z890 chipset, often announced previously during Computex 2024.

These speculated data centers will provide native Thunderbolt 4 support and more incredible memory support via a superior IMC. Moreover, Intel’s Arrow Lake-HX and Arrow Lake-H are also expected to be available later this year. Their full release is assumed to occur at the start of 2025 after the debut of NVIDIA’s Blackwell “RTX 50” GPUs.
