Intel has added a new line of 13th Gen Black Edition CPUs for China, including the Core i5-13490F and Core i7-13790F. This specific chips are intended to be China-only, similar to their predecessors in the 12th Gen lineup. These Processors hoewever, will have only one “Black Edition” CPU, the Core i5-12490F, which was initially unpopular due to its unusual pricing but later became popular when its prices fell close to Core i5-12400 CPU levels.

The Intel Core i5-13490F has the same core configuration as the Core i5-13400F, with 6 P-Cores and 4 E-Cores totaling 12 cores and 16 threads. The changes begin with the clock speeds, with the 13490F sporting a 4.8 GHz boost clock and more cache. The CPU has a total of 24 MB of L3 cache and 9.5 MB of L2 cache. The 13400F has only 20 MB of L3 cache and 9.5 MB of L2 cache.

The L3 cache on the Core i7-13790F is larger as Intel has increased it to 33MB, which is 10% larger than the L3 cache on the Core i7-13700F.

It’s an unusual number, and the chipmaker really did something wonderful over here to get the Core i7-13790F to 33MB. The standard Core i7-13700F comes with eight Raptor Cove clusters and two Gracemont clusters.

Keep in mind that both the Raptor Core and the Gracemont have a 3MB L3 cache, with the latter housing four E-cores. Intel used one complete Gracemont cluster and partially enabled two other Gracemont clusters in the Core i7-13790F.

The Core i5-13490F costs $235.96, while the Core i7-13790F costs $441.62. They cost 20% more than the Core i5-13400F and Core i7-13700F models. Early results indicate that the Core i5-13490F and Core i7-13790F could outperform their current counterparts by more than 10%.
