Intel Arrow Lake-S (Core Ultra 9 285K) Benchmarks leaked: To Be 18% Faster Than 14900K

Intel’s flagship Arrow Lake-S (Core Ultra 9 285K) processor was reportedly reaching up to 5.5GHz in ES (engineering sample) form, while QS (qualifying sample) chips were reaching 5.7GHz. Now, reports have confirmed that Intel’s flagship Arrow Lake-S chip can reach up to 5.7GHz.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K will have a P-core boost frequency of 5.7 GHz for a single core, per OneRaichu’s pretty cryptic comment on X. It is said that 5.4 GHz is the maximum all-core boost speed. According to reports, the E cores’ single-core and all-core boost rates are 4.7 and 4.6 GHz, respectively.

The suggested single-core maximum clock speed for the Core Ultra 9 285K is 300 MHz lower than that of the Core i9-14900K and 100 MHz lower than that of the Core i9-13900K, to put these figures into context. Nonetheless, the E-core boost clock of the Core Ultra 9 285K surpasses that of the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-13900K by 300 and 400 MHz, respectively.

Intel Arrow Lake-S (Core Ultra 9 285K) Benchmarks leaked: To Be 18% Faster Than 14900K
  • Core Ultra 9 285K – 5.70 GHz (Max)
  • Core i9-14900KS – 6.20 GHz (Max)
  • Core i9-14900K – 6.00 GHz (Max)
  • Core i9-13900KS – 6.00 GHz (Max)
  • Core i9-13900K – 5.80 GHz (Max)
  • Core i9-12900KS – 5.50 GHz (Max)
  • Core i9-12900K – 5.20 GHz (Max)

The Core i9-14900KS CPU from Intel currently has a 6.2GHz boost, the Core i9-14900K has a 6.0GHz boost, and the Core i9-13900KS and Core i9-13900K have 5.8GHz and 6.0GHz boosts, respectively. The Core Ultra 9 285K’s 5.7GHz will still feel quick thanks to IPC performance enhancements from Arrow Lake, which will also provide a significant 6.0GHz bump over the 14900KS.

With eight Lion Cove P-cores and sixteen Skymont E-cores, the CPU has twenty-four cores arranged in an 8+16 configuration. 36 MB of L3, 40 MB of L2, and 2.4 MB of L1 are included in the cache pool. That amounts to 76 megabytes of smart cache.

Intel is expected to ship the ARL-S desktop Core Ultra 200 CPUs in October of this year. Thus, we will have to wait a few months to find out more about the power and impact on performance of the reported 5.7 GHz clock speed of the Core Ultra 9 285K. However, there’s always a chance that the final clock frequencies won’t match what OneRaichu suggests. As such, take this information as preliminary.
