Intel and AMD next-gen CPU roadmaps leak, and they shine a light on the upcoming Arrow Lake, Panther Lake, Strix, Krackan, and Fire Range laptop silicon. Unlike the recent NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 “Blackwell” laptop lineup leak, this leak comes from the recent CLEVO Hack as it reveals details about a number of next-gen chips from both Intel and AMD.
Intel and AMD’s Laptop CPU Roadmap Ahead
For Intel’s CPU lineup, the transition will start with the higher-end HX series which is expected to make the move to the Arrow Lake-HX family that will feature up to 8 Lion Cove P-Cores and 16 Skymont E-Cores which represents the Arrow Lake-S Desktop SKUs. We anticipate these chips to launch in Q4 2024-Q1 2025, possibly coinciding with CES. Intel is also prepping an Arrow Lake-HX refresh with the latest specs and with more AI TOPS, due in for around CES 2026.
As for the mainstream side of the story, Arrow Lake-H and Arrow Lake-U are expected to arrive around CES 2025 while the Arrow Lake-H series would also receive a refresh in only 2-3 quarters. Arrow Lake-H and Arrow Lake-H refresh: 28-45W TDPs Arrow Lake-U: 15W TDP Panther Lake Chips are known to be packing a fresh pin arrangement and are anticipated to launch around CES 2026.
On the AMD side of the street, the roadmap shows most of the next-gen line-up landing in 2025. The Fire Range CPU family, featuring the AMD Zen 5 core architecture akin to the desktop Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” lineup, will retain 16 cores and introduce X3D variants boosted by 3D V-Cache for enhanced gaming performance.
Additionally, the Strix family will include Strix Halo chips with 16 Zen 5 cores and Strix Point, now dubbed the Ryzen AI 300 series, boasting 12 cores. Strix Point is set to arrive as early as July 2024, with Krackan Point APUs following suit, featuring 8 cores and a 50 TOPS AI NPU. These APUs will be FP8 (LPDDR) and FP11 (LPDDR5) compatible, respectively, while Fire Range will be FL1 (DDR5) compatible.
