Intel is completely trying to make a new beginning to bounce back into the market with their first big announcement coming in the form of Tiger Lake CPUs.

Intel’s latest 10nm processors namely the Tiger Lake have taken the Notebook community by storm. With its Tiger Lake, the silicon manufacturing giant introduced its next-gen Intel Iris Xe iGPU. But one thing which intel seems to lack behind is in provide 10nm desktop-grade and server-grade CPUs. It looks as if intel will be behind its competitors for quite some time.

Bu this disappointment has forced Intel to manufacture designs that can make full use of the 10nm node. Its new architecture utilizing both the big and small cores could help intel to get back in the game.

Intel also intends on implementing its new architecture in desktop-grade CPUs which is codenamed as Alder Lake-S releasing in seconds half of 2021.

Sources claim that the new architecture has an ID reading “Genuine Intel 0000 @1.40 GHz (16C 32T)”. this means that the new chip will have up to 16 cores and 32 threads. It is also reported that in Alder Lake-S only 8 Golden Cove big cores are getting hyperthreading and 8 Gracemont small cores do not support the feature.

As noted in our previous article, Alder Lake-S will support DDR4 as well as DDR5 RAM, so the performance of the DDR5 module will be more than the DDR4 variant.

The new Alder Lake – S from Intel is expected to feature PCIe gen 5.0 but sources claim that since the PCIe 5.0 is not yet featured commercially, so the performance of this new feature is still unknown. The Alder Lake – S is confirmed to have 10x 1.25 MB L2 cache memory and also 30 MB L3 cache memory.

With NVIDIA acquiring ARM and planning to release its new Data Processing Unit, trouble might be increasing for Intel as a new competitor has entered the competition. The release of Intel’s new architecture will certainly keep the silicon manufacturer running in the competition. But to stand out, Intel needs to create server-grade and desktop-grade CPUs with 10nm process.
