Legendary Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has revealed that he would love to return to Barcelona some day. His former teammate, Xavi has returned to Camp Nou as the head coach while Dani Alves has sighed as a new player.
Iniesta left Barcelona in 2018 after more than 400 league appearances. He had won all the trophies on offer at club level with Barcelona. He is still playing at the age of 37 for the Japanese side Vissel Kobe since 2018.
Iniesta said about the possibility of returning to Barcelona, via Sport: “I don’t know what will happen in the future, I would love to return to barça at some point in my life, I don’t know in what aspect. To return to Barça, to your home, to be able to continue helping in another way that is playing us, I would like to, but nobody knows the future.”
Regarding his role at the club, the midfielder assured that “I don’t know what I could be prepared for. I would like to get my coach’s license but I don’t know if I would exercise. I like to think about the present, play soccer and we’ll see in the future”.
Barcelona didn’t have a good start to this season which saw Koeman getting sacked. Iniesta does not deny that “it feels bad to see Barça like this, from another more distant view, if things don’t go well it’s not pleasant because you see teammates who suffer, new people who can’t find that moment of results, the fans. When something you want suffers, it hurts. “
